The Sussex Audiology Centre is a well-established and independent company providing Hearing Aid Services and a full diagnostic and rehabilitation Audiology Service in Brighton and Hove.
Our fully qualified and experienced team comprises a Consultant ENT Surgeon, an Audiological Scientist as well as Audiology Technicians and Hearing Aid Dispensers.
We are able to offer a complete service including a Consultant ENT Surgeon opinion, diagnostic tests, hearing aid provision for rehabilitation of hearing loss, vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness.
Bob Tranter is a Consultant ENT Surgeon with Brighton and Sussex University Hospital Trust
He has been working in Sussex for 22 years as a Consultant and works at the following Hospitals:
Undertakes a wide range of reconstructive ear operations and also with his neurosurgical colleagues on tumours of the auditory and vestibular systems.
In addition to this he also performs surgery relating to hearing aids provision, in particular the bone-anchored hearing aid.
He has been carrying out bone anchored hearing aid surgery for fifteen years with excellent hearing results for the people who are unable to wear the normal hearing aid systems.
Dr Rob Low is Head of department at the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals as well as working clinically in private practice at the Sussex Aduiology Centre. He is a Consultant Clinical Scientist registered with the Association of Clinical Scientists for which he is a director. He has worked as an audiological scientist since 1986 following his MSc in Clinical audiology at Manchester University. He has a DPhil in audiological research from Sussex University and was the last Chair of the British Association of Audiological Scientists prior to its amalgamation into the British Academy of audiology.
Rosanne Westcott started her career as an Audiology Technician in the NHS 25 years ago. Since then she has gained experience in all aspects of diagnostic audiology and hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation.
Rosanne later furthered her audiological career working in the private sector for a well-known Otological Centre in London where she qualified as a Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser and acquired extensive experience in the field of dispensing private hearing aids.
Rosanne is keen to stay in touch with the ever-advancing changes in hearing aid technology and is able to offer an unbiased view of the latest digital hearing aids.
For a hearing aid to be successful it is vital that care and consideration is taken to ensure the most appropriate hearing instrument is fitted. It is equally vital that full after care provision is given and Rosanne ensures that all the necessary support is available by providing a personal and friendly service.
Ben Tranter joined Sussex Audiology in 2005 and has completed BSA qualifications in Audiometry, Otoscopy and Impression Taking. He has gained his RHAD through the Hearing Aid Council and is also member.
Previously to working for Sussex Audiology Ben gained a BSc in Sports Science and Management at Brunel University and also worked in the Marine Industry skippering large sailing yachts.
